GOC 2011

We were in Stuttgart a little while ago for the German Open Championships and it was awesome! Apparently over 5000 couples danced and in all the events that we watched the couples looked very strong from second round onwards. Needless to say we were out in the first round. ;)

England was represented at this event, which is the biggest Amateur competition in the world at the moment, by... wait for it... 3 couples! :(

Highlights for me were:

• Watching the Grand Slam Standard Final close-up from the edge of the floor, with our favourite couples dancing
• Junior II Latin – they are unbelievably good!
• Watching Alexey Silde & Anna Firstova live in competition – they recently retired but came back just so I could watch them dance ;)
